Geneva, Switzerland, 27 March 2018 – The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) have announced that the 2018 Heine H. Hansen (HHH) Award will be given to Fabrice Barlesi. The award will be presented at ELCC 2018 (European Lung Cancer Congress), held 11-14 April in Geneva, Switzerland. (1)

The HHH Award honours the lifetime contribution of Heine H. Hansen (2) to lung cancer research and education and is awarded to a lung cancer investigator who has made a special contribution to this field. The HHH Award is presented annually by representatives of both organisations at ELCC, where the recipient will give a keynote lecture. (3)

This year’s recipient Fabrice Barlesi is currently Professor of Medicine at the University of Aix Marseille and Head of the Multidisciplinary Oncology and Therapeutic Innovations department at Assistance Publique Hopitaux de Marseille in France.
